4 Annoying Updates of the Global Trade HQ and 2020 Tips to Succeed!
| Item Already Sold? You're too Slow! |
Since the launch of SimCity BuildIt there has been one standout feature that has provided the most annoyance and frustration and that is the Global Trade HQ. Here are some of the top annoyances along with 2020 tips to succeed the best you can against a flawed and overloaded system:
1) Timelock Features vs Refresh
The most major recent change has been with the way EA has reformatted the bidding system, Before I was easily able to purchase a range of expansion, storage and other key items under maximum cost which allowed me the choice to use it or simply flip it for cash in the early stages when it is at a low.
What the Timelock has appeared to do is limit the amount of items you can look for and their compromise is the 30 second Refresh button.
In this case all it has done is pushed up prices and decreased regular availability. I can still buy and sell but now at many more times of the day it is just impossible to get what I need, not matter how long I try.
All Fake Simcity BuildIt Cheats are FAKE....!!!!!
![]() |
| The only person hurt by a Fake Cheat is YOU!!! |
That makes no sense anyway since this is an iOS and Android mobile game and has nothing to do with your PC apart from some hackers turning your computer into a spam machine.
SimCity BuildIt is also a server based game which means the server is control and you would need to somehow go through the EA server before being able to achieve the massive cheats being promised - if you can do that then free Simoleans should be the last thing on your mind....
All that can be offered or recommended via sites like this are tip, tricks, exploits and good advice how to maximize your gameplay - this means SimCity is still a game with competitive edges but also one that you can excel at with optimized strategy and the best skyscrapers!

4 Tips for the Most Dangerously Expensive Levels of Fire, Police & Health Service for Beginners
![]() |
| Good Fire, Police & Health Service Coverage = Happy Citizens |
Fire, Police & Health are Essential Services which get introduced early into the game just as most players are beginning to speed up their Residential expansions and can lead to sharp cash flow crises and immediate problems with Sims abandoning buildings en-masse unless you are financially prepared for it.
The followings tips can help you operate smoothly around these most dangerously expensive levels for Essential Services:
1) Which Levels do Fire, Police and Health become active services?
Fire Services become active early on at Level 5 while Police Services comes later at Level 12 and Health Services at Level 16 (plus minimum 16,000 population).2) What is the recommended Cash Reserve for each Level?
- For Fire you should have at least $20,000 available for purchasing different levels of fire stations for a modestly sized town at this earliest stage.
- Police Service Units are 80% more expensive than Fire so a $30,000 to $40,000 Simolean cash reserve is recommended at this point.
- Health Service Units are a further 23% more expensive so $40,000 to $60,000 cash reserve should be prudent as long as you have been maintaining a stable growth of residential units while focusing on optimizing revenues from factories and shops via your Trade Depot and the Global Trade HQ.
3 Stinking Good Reasons to Keep Up with your City's Utility Services in SimCity BuildIt!
During the initial game tutorial everything seemed so quaint and easy until a week or so later suddenly the Mayor (i.e. YOU!) are knee-deep in Sim pee, poo and diapers and with Sims abandoning their garbage filled streets and houses for that clean city with utilities on the other side of the hill.
Well luckily it's not too late to help some of you out before the ship hits the fan so here we go:1) Tutorials are just for beginning the game and don't cover everything:
Although you managed to get the Water and Power up and running during the official SimCity Buildit Game Tutorial does not mean that it was going to cover your and your town/city's asses for very long. In fact by level 8 there is a seismic shift in your Sim population's bowels leading to a very urgent need for a Sewage System.2) People Poo. Sims are People Too! They also Poo....a lot. Install some Sewage Facilities at Level 8 or Piss will destroy your city:
6 Effective Ways to Make Your Trade Depot More Efficient and Reduce Buginess
Anyone who has sold items via their city's Trade Depot will notice after a period of time a number of bugs and inefficiencies that can reduce your trading value from thousands of Simoleans per day all the way down to zero.
Here are the 6 most effective ways I have found to deal with this:
1) Not Completely Filling all Your Trade Slots:
Always leave a 1 or 2 slots open when you stock up your Trade Depot so that incase of the Global Trade HQ having a bad hair day or just lack of demand for whatever reasons you can still come back a few hours later to add additional items which also brings renewed attention to your old stock,2) Advertising:
Every 5 minutes you get a free Advertising Spot in the Global Trade HQ for you to use - quite often if you advertise a popular item like Expansion or Storage material at a reasonable price you will find that most of your other stock has sold out as well. The best way of using the free advertising is to upload all the items you intend to first and then start with the first advertising spot on a competitively priced piece in order to attract larger numbers of potential buyers and you may only have to advertise 2, 3 or 4 times before your entire load gets sold.

4 Profitable Daily Tips & City Tricks from SimCity BuildIt's Mayor Daniel
Don't Waste 4 Profitable Opportunities from Mayor Daniel and his City:
After the useful introduction to Mayor Daniel during the initial tutorial and early levels many players completely forget about Mayor Daniel, I know I did this up until I reached the levels where the Trade Depot and Global Trade HQ are opened up when I realized what an opportunity I had been wasting.1) Hitting Daniel's Trade Depot every 24 Hours
Every single day you have the chance to buy a range of 6 items from Mayor Daniel's Trade Depot - at least half of these items will be hard to come by or hard/longtime to make and all of the items will be selling at RRP (Recommended Retail Price) which means you can either use them to upgrade buildings or you can jack up the price by 10 to 100 per item, sell them in your Trade Depot and make a quick 500-1,000 Simoleans every 24 hours.

Optimizing Your SimCity BuildIt Layout from Day One
These are the best ways of Optimizing the SimCity BuildIt Layout and Minimizing your Expenses when setting up for the first time:-
Roads:
- Roads cost nothing to build (although they cost to upgrade later on) so it means you can spend time laying out and bulldozing your road system based on the following information.
- However roads can take up valuable space later on as the game progresses so make sure to build long straight roads without excessive turns and junctions.
- This image of Simmy Cloud's imaginative use of roads to write the city's name is nice to look at but it also occupies enough space for 5 Skyscrapers!!
Factories, Power, Water, Sewage, Waste & City Storage:
- Any pollution making or ugly industrial units should be placed at the end of a long road to the furthest edge of your city in order to keep the population happy and pollution free.
- Water and Solar & Wind Energy are the exceptions and don't have any negative impact.
Shops, Town Hall, City Hall & Mayor's Mansion:
- Sims like having shops and some government buildings like Town & City Hall and the Mayor's Mansion near their houses and these units can also help act as a buffer between residential and industrial areas, especially as your town grows into a crowded city.

What is SimCity BuildIt?
SimCity BuildIt is a free-to-play/freemium mobile game app that has been adapted from EA's super successful 2013 SimCity for the PC.
There are a lot of differences in gameplay but in terms of visuals it is a pretty close look and feel of the desktop version.
SimCity BuildIt is available for download from the Apple App Store for iPhones and iPads as well as via Google Play for Android devices.
