Trade Depot / Global Trade HQ Time & Advertising 2020 Updates

Trade Depot / Global Trade HQ Time & Advertising Updates

The Global Trade HQ has long been a source of complaints from SimCity fans who find the system annoying. Check the  Check the 2020 updates to build a better world this year!

The main problems were initially believed to be the sheer level of demand overloading EA's servers as the app became the most popular SimCity game of all time as well as the fact that the timelock feature reduced players ability to easily search for items.

However, since the last app update there have been two major improvements to each player's Trade Depot functionality and timing:
  1. The time limit between advertising new items has now dropped from 5 minutes down to just 1 minute making it easier and quicker to sell your items and generate Simoleons.
  2. Even better the length of each item advertising period has also been extended to 12 hours meaning that your Trade Depot items can receive much more publicity on the Global Trade HQ resulting in an increasing chance of more sales and more Simoleons.
This is a great improvement that benefits all SimCity BuildIt players and hopefully there will be more nice surprises to come in future app updates!

SimCity Road Upgrades & Road Rage!

SimCity Road Upgrades & Road Rage!
Expensive Upgrades Can Cause Road Rage!

One of the key changes in the 7th May SimCity BuildIt Update was the ability to extend Road Upgrades from ordinary multi-lane roads into Boulevards, Avenues and even Streetcar Avenues (unlocked at level 34).

Unfortunately many players have been faced with requirements for mass-upgrades of many of their city's roads, plenty of which had already been upgraded previously to the 4 or 6 lane maximum.

Now it happens that there is an indicator that shows whether you have "Moderate" or "Heavy" Traffic Jams and the upgrade level requirements along with the costs.

For my 400,000+ city it cost more than 300,000 Simoleans to upgrade all the necessary streets to avoid complaints and reductions in Happiness levels - due to some accrued cash reserves I managed to get back my 100% Happiness after several days scraping, selling and saving to pay for my new roads.

Buyer beware!

8th May SimCity BuildIt Update - 7 of Something to Please Everyone!

8th May SimCity BuildIt Update - 7 of Something to Please Everyone!
Dr. Vu's Tower of Mayhem is Now Upgradeable

On 7th May EA Games released another new update for SimCity BuildIt and this time it looks like it has been a good all-rounder of an update which tackles various areas of annoyance or underdevelopment for the better.

There are the following positive updates to gameplay and general improvements including:

  1. A New Social Feature which lets you click on Blue Speech Bubbles that appear inside other people's cities which reward you with a free item of any kind (materials, factory item, expansion, storage). These bubbles can appear anytime you visit the city of Daniel, a Facebook Friend or even a stranger so it is a pretty cool function.
  2. Once you reach level 40 there is now a whole new "House of Worship" Specialization that can be opened up.
  3. Dr. Vu's Tower is now upgradeable new visuals and 3 new disasters: the Giant Robot, the Tesla Coil (Lightening Storm) and the Tornado.
  4. New Road Upgrades from Boulevard to Avenue and up to Street Cars.
  5. More fixes in operational capacity for the Global Trade HQ.
  6. Adjusted Population calculations for the Landmark, Entertainment and Gambling Specializations.
  7. And to top it off there are now 16 new Achievements available at the Mayor's Mansion.
Overall not a bad little update and I am already finding the Global Trade HQ a bit easier to buy my selected items from, which makes for a nice change!

P.S. this update should answer a lot of questions that our readers have been sending in to us recently (some people may have updated automatically without realizing the significance of this fairly large update). Hopefully everything is clear now, if not then please continue to mail me for assistance!

SimCity BuildIt April App Update with 4 Key Changes of Importance

SimCity BuildIt April App Update with 4 Key Changes of Importance

A new update was released on iOS (and presumably on android as well) in the April for the ever popular SimCity BuildIt Mobile App.

It is a minor update but includes four key changes of importance:

  1. Behind the scenes technical improvements to fix occasional game crashes related to the Global HQ and Trade Depot.
  2. Building Upgrade Bubbles no longer randomly change place.
  3. No more "impossible" Cargo Ship Challenges (where they need too many items with not enough time to produce them).
  4. Mayor Daniel is now also selling City Limit Expansion items, Dr. Vu items and inventory expansion items.
While not life-changing these update out to help improve general game-play and overall opportunities to trade and expand more smoothly and quickly!
